Executive Board of Directors

Kenzie Brunner (She/Her)

President of MBA and Outreach Committee chair

With a background in the psychology of skiing, Kenzie works for a recreation non-profit by day, and can be found skiing and/or mountain biking in Stowe with her husband and two dogs outside of office hours. Kenzie is passionate about bringing the ski community together to enjoy what makes the Green Mountain State so unique. You'll find Kenzie post-ski living her true midwestern life by enjoying a pop!

Aaron Rice (He/Him)

Vice president of MBA and Skimo Committee chair

Aaron was introduced to backcountry skiing in 2008 while attending UVM and to put it lightly, fell in love with the sport! Aaron currently holds the world record for most human powered skiing in a calendar year - skiing 2.5 million vertical feet in 2016. Though rumor has it a shirtless, absurdly tan Stowite is rapidly chasing his record.

Ryan Darlow (He/Him)

Treasurer of MBA and and Sanctioning Committee Chair

I came to Vermont for school and I stayed because of the broad community of outdoor activity enthusiasts that I found.

Dennis Kramer (He/Him)

Secretary of MBA

Former city kid who likes good skiing almost as much as he likes bad skiing. A little obsessed with speed and vert. Good at mountain biking but only the uphill part and only when it's not too technical.

Board of Directors

Zach Berger (He/Him)

Board of directors member

Zach first came to Vermont for college, where he fell in love with backcountry skiing. Zach decided to make Vermont his permanent home, where he now spends most of his free time exploring the Green Mountains - usually on backcountry skis, a mountain bike, or with a fishing rod in hand. He is passionate about protecting and expanding access to backcountry trails, ensuring that skiers have safe, sustainable opportunities to enjoy Vermont’s outdoor spaces for years to come.

Kate Emmons (She/Her)

Resort Relations Committee chair

Kate spends most of her time in the outdoors trail running, mountain biking and skiing. She transitioned from snowboarding to the world of human-powered skiing when she moved to Vermont, where she has since enjoyed the special community that surrounds the sport.

Noah Dines (He/Him)

Board of directors member

Skiing 3 million human powered ft

Colin Dowey (He/Him)

Fundraising Committee Chair

I love spending time outdoors, skiing in the winter, and running, biking, and dreaming about skiing in the summer.

Craig Lawver (He/Him)

Board of directors member

Craig grew up in Central Pennsylvania and when he was 15, his parents brought him to Vermont for the first time. It was more magical than Disney World and left a lasting impression on him. He spent close to 20 years with his wife Angie in the DC suburbs climbing the corporate ladder and raising their now 17-year-old twins.  After years of dreaming of someday retiring to the mountains of Vermont, in 2020 they accelerated those plans and moved the family to Stowe. Craig has been doing his best to make up for all the years of missed ski days ever since.

Andrew Rianhard (He/Him)

Board of directors member

I'm Andrew, and I moved to Vermont in 2008 after falling in love with Stowe's terrain. I'm passionate about energy efficiency, equity & equality, and skiing (at resorts and in the backcountry!)

Christopher Trajkovski (He/Him)

Board of directors member

Chris spends most of his "free" time eating, skiing, biking, and running (no time for sleep). The rest of his time is spent enjoying the mountains with his wife and kids.

Berrett Walter (He/Him)

Events & Fun Committee Chair

Berrett found his way to Vermont by way of UVM where he was introduced to Backcountry skiing in the Green Mountains through the Outing Club. His love for recreating in Vermont prompted him to stay, where he now works to develop renewable energy projects across the Northeast. In his free time, Berrett is out exploring the Green Mountains on two planks or two wheels. Berrett is proud to represent MBA as the CTA Trail Chief for the Ruschp, Gorge, and Marston trails in Sterling Valley, and help maintain these iconic ski trails. Berrett is excited to share his passion for the Vermont backcountry and foster an inclusive community with events through MBA.
